EXCEPTIONAL GLOSS AND PROTECTION
Expert Ceramic Coating Service in North Lakes, Queensland
Why Choose Flash for Ceramic Coating In Queensland
Ceramic coating isn’t a side service at Flash Detailing. It’s one of the main things we do, and it has been for years. Coatings are carried out consistently across new performance vehicles, European luxury cars, enthusiast builds and carefully maintained daily drivers. Doing this work week in, week out builds a real understanding of different paint systems and how coatings behave long after the vehicle leaves the studio.
At the same time, completing a high number of coatings has never meant treating them as routine. Every vehicle is assessed properly and refined where required before it is sealed. It represents something to its owner, and it’s approached that way.
A large portion of our coating work comes from returning clients and referrals. Owners who change vehicles regularly come back to have the next one prepared the same way. That trust has been built through consistent results, not marketing.
For those looking for ceramic coating carried out with experience, attention and a steady standard behind it, that difference becomes clear over time.
Why Owners Choose A Ceramic Coating Service ⬇
Most people notice the finish straight away.
When paint has been properly corrected and then coated, it simply looks different. Dark colours carry more depth. Metallics catch the light more cleanly. Reflections feel sharper, especially under harsh sunlight. The surface looks tighter and more uniform from panel to panel.
That change is obvious from day one.
What becomes more apparent later is how well it holds together. Routine washing doesn’t dull it as quickly. Water spotting is easier to deal with. The clarity achieved during correction isn’t lost as fast to everyday use.
For many of our clients, that’s the point. They want the finish to stay at that level without having to continually chase it with machine work.

The Ceramic Coating Process at Flash Detailing
Inspection and Assessment
Each vehicle is evaluated under controlled lighting to determine the true condition of the paintwork and the level of correction required.
Wash and Decontamination
The surface is thoroughly washed and decontaminated to remove bonded contaminants, fallout and residues that standard washing does not eliminate.
Surface Preparation
Polishing oils and residues are removed to ensure the coating bonds directly to clean, bare clear coat.
Coating Application
The coating is applied methodically, panel by panel, under controlled conditions. Application timing, flash times and levelling are managed carefully to ensure even coverage.
The Coating Systems We Trust
Ceramic coating is only as reliable as the system behind it. Over time, we’ve tested and worked with multiple coating platforms. The products we use today are selected because they perform consistently in real-world conditions, not because they carry the loudest branding.
Our coating work centres around
Ethos Graphene Pro, a coating brand we trust for its durability, surface feel and the way it maintains clarity once cured. It complements refined paintwork rather than masking it, which is important when the goal is long-term finish stability.
The tools in the studio reflect the same thinking. Paint is assessed under proper lighting before correction. Surfaces are decontaminated thoroughly before any product is applied. Equipment is chosen to refine, not rush.
The product matters. The method matters more. The combination of both is what delivers a consistent result.
Flash Detailing Ceramic Coating FAQs
How long does Ethos Graphene coating last?
Ethos Graphene is rated for up to 10 years, but based on real-world results from over 1,000 installations, a more realistic expectation is around 5 years for daily-driven vehicles. Proper care and maintenance are crucial!
Does Ethos Graphene coating require maintenance?
Yes. To maintain optimal performance, we recommend a maintenance service every 6 to 12 months (ideally every 6 months). This service removes built-up contamination, restores the coating’s structure, and includes a conditioner to enhance its effectiveness.
Maintenance is a separate service priced at $300 per visit.
Do I still need to wash my car if it’s coated?
Yes. Ceramic coating does not eliminate the need for washing. It changes how the surface behaves. Contamination is less aggressive and easier to remove, which makes routine maintenance easier and more controlled.
The vehicle will still require regular cleaning, but the process is typically more straightforward and less abrasive to the finish.
Will ceramic coating prevent stone chips and scratches?
No. Ceramic coating is not designed to absorb impact. It will not stop stone chips at highway speeds, nor is it designed to provide the physical barrier that Paint Protection Film offers.
Its role is surface durability and easier maintenance, not impact resistance.
For areas exposed to frequent debris, such as front bumpers, lower doors and side skirts, PPF is the appropriate solution. Many of our clients choose to combine Paint Protection Film on high-impact zones with ceramic coating across the vehicle to achieve the right balance.
What does the preparation process involve, and why does it matter?
Preparation determines the final result.
Before any coating is applied, the paintwork is thoroughly washed, decontaminated and assessed under proper lighting. Correction is carried out where required to remove swirls, haze or surface defects.
Applying a coating over unrefined paint simply seals those imperfections in place. Proper preparation ensures clarity, uniformity and correct bonding.
Can ceramic coating be applied to more than just the paint?
Yes. Ceramic coatings can also be applied to wheels, exterior trims, glass and select interior surfaces, depending on the package selected.
These areas benefit from the same surface behaviour changes as the paint. Brake dust releases more easily from wheels. Glass becomes less prone to aggressive water spotting. Exterior trims retain a more uniform appearance.
The appropriate configuration depends on how the vehicle is used and the level of coverage the owner prefers. We tailor the application accordingly.

Ceramic Coating for Long-Term Paint Management
In our North Lakes studio, we regularly see the same pattern. A vehicle arrives looking sharp, but under proper lighting, the early signs of wear are already there. Light swirls from routine washing. Mineral spotting from Queensland water. Fine contamination embedded in the clear coat. Modern paint does not take long to change once it’s exposed to daily use.
Ceramic coating is applied to slow that progression. Bonded to the clear coat, it forms a hardened, hydrophobic surface layer that alters how the paint responds to water, dirt and environmental exposure. However, it does not prevent impact damage or eliminate maintenance. What it does is make the surface more stable and far easier to manage over time.
When applied over properly prepared paintwork and cured in controlled conditions,
ceramic coating becomes part of a long-term approach to preserving finish quality rather than correcting it repeatedly.
